Presbyterian Women is a church-wide organization whose membership is open to all women of the Presbyterian Church (USA) who choose to participate in or be supportive of the organization in any way.


Our Purpose:
Forgiven and freed by God and Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
- to support the mission of the church worldwide
- to work for justice and peace, and
- to build an inclusive, caring community of women who strengthen the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witness to the promise of God's kingdom

The women of First Presbyterian Church, Fernandina Beach, have a strong leadership team and six Circles that meet monthly. Most Circles meet the second week of the month in the homes of members or at the church. We support the mission of the Presbyterian Church (USA) worldwide through education, interpretation, global awareness and financial and material gifts. Our unit is also actively involved in hands-on mission work within our own community.

The next church wide gathering of Presbyterian Women will be our Fall Kick Off Luncheon & Program on Thursday, September 13, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. The introduction to our 2007-2008 Study Book, Above and Beyond, Hearing God's Call in Jonah and Ruth will be presented. A potluck salad luncheon will be provided by Presbyterian Women. Please join us and see what we are all about!

Mark your calendars for our BIG annual bazaar on Saturday, November 3, 2007. There will be wonderful crafts and home baked goodies for sale, as well as great fellowship. Our theme this year is, "Through the Woods to Grandma's House."
